How I wish I could meet President Hugo Chavez and cry into his arms...
VHeadline.com commentarist Mary MacElveen writes: As a member of several political lists in which discussions take place concerning all things political, ideas come forth on what to write for my columns here at VHeadline.com.
On one list last night, several people were discussing who the better candidate would be for the Democratic Party in the 2008 presidential elections here in the United States.
I basically said, as I briefly took part in that discussion, that we may not make it till those elections as we stare Armageddon in the face.
These are no longer normal times in which to hold said discussions.
As I was speaking to someone on the phone last night, I told him that there is a dark aura that surrounds us in which words fail me to describe. You can feel it, as well as taste it, and if you are in tune with your own body, it scares you to death.
But, this aura of darkness that surrounds us, is in my opinion, not coming from any outside source such as Al Qaeda, but from the government of the United States of America and its support for Israel.
I am going to be so bold and to state that any elected official that states that they are anti-war yet gives Israel its blessing to wage war, is truly a hypocrite.
While I wish that this was a perfect world in which mankind would invest the billions upon billions of dollars to help mankind survive, we are spending those moneys on weaponry that will wipe mankind off the face of the Earth.
To those within the Washington, D.C. beltway that are concerned that President Hugo Chavez has entered into an arms deal with Russia, my message to them is, get over it.
- Get over your self-effaced moralistic stance that you are far superior and the promoters of peace.
Don't you dare scream out that President Chavez is the threat to the very survival of this planet when we see evidence that the United States along with Israel are the destroyers as we wage war.
In a BBC article, I read "The US has tried to persuade Russia not to supply weapons to Venezuela." Just yesterday, a UN post was destroyed killing all four occupants inside as Israel launched an air raid strike. Maybe the UN should say to the United States, "Do not supply Israel with anymore weaponry"
In a previous VHeadline.com article, I quoted John Bolton who is the United States Ambassador to the United Nations when he said, "If the UN Secretariat building lost 10 stories, it wouldn't make a bit of difference." My comment to his terrorist statement was, "Now imagine if you will, a terrorist saying that concerning any high security building post-September 11 ... he would be thrown into GITMO as an enemy combatant."
President Chavez in his travels is lobbying for a seat on the UN Security Council and quite frankly, since Venezuela has not invaded any country illegally, pummeling said country into oblivion, should there be any question who is truly looking out for the security of this planet?
- This is really a no-brainer, and there should not be any hesitation by the UN body. For sanity sake, they should insist that Venezuela be given a seat on this council.
President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus was quoted as saying of President Chavez, "I'm impressed by your knowledge of military affairs," Well considering the fact that President Chavez served in the Venezuelan army, he knows a thing or two, make that three about the military. Unlike the 'chicken hawks of the United States that will start wars when they themselves have never served a day in their life. Sure, serve someone else's son or daughter up on a silver platter to be killed as these elected officials sit comfortably in their offices pulling the strings. Also, these same elected officials are bought and paid for by AIPAC ( American Israel Public Affairs Committee), one of the most powerful political lobbying committee that has Israel's welfare at heart and not the welfare of our American citizens. How many of our soldiers must die because Bush lied? How many soldiers must die to support Israel? What moral purpose does it serve to send our military over to the Middle East to help Israel as they pummel cities killing innocent human beings? Am I so wrong in thinking this most rational thought? Some in the United States may call me a traitor or worse yet, unpatriotic. To them, I say by going along with this insanity, they are the ones that are traitors to this country and are truly unpatriotic. They are putting this country more at risk, then those of us who seek peace.
As world leaders and political pundits here in the United States marginalize President Hugo Chavez using every derogatory term in describing him, did he do this?

This is the aftermath of Israel's bombing of Beirut. Do you get the picture? To my fellow citizens in the United States, this is what your government is supporting. What did the citizens of Beirut do to you to deserve this?
What I am about to show you will shock you and perhaps that is what all of you need in order to wake up. I cannot rely as a writer that my readers will actually go to the hyperlinks that I have always supplied in my writings to drive home a point.

Now I ask you, what did this Lebanese child ever do to you, my fellow Americans that you will sanction his murder at the hands of the Israeli government?
As you go along with the propagandist thinking that President Chavez is bad, he did not do this. We did through our support of Israel. When President Chavez has repeatedly called our government "imperialist" in nature, this is exactly what he means.
Right now, most American children are out of school enjoying their summer break and it angers me that as they do, the government of the United States will sanction the murder of innocent children in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip as well as Iraq. Oh, let us not forget Iraq as we continue to take that country down the road to hell.
Do you get it now, why we who oppose this brutality are so angry? I have now given you two pieces of evidence that any juror sitting in on a murder case would convict the murder defendant. I want you to be a part of a jury that will condemn this violence against innocent men, women and yes as you just saw, an innocent child.
The United States has voiced their illogical concerns over Russia's sale of military weapons to Venezuela and considering the facts in evidence, Venezuela has never done anything close to what I have seen in so many video feeds and pictures that would make anyone scream, cry and feel outrage.
| The other day, while on a call with my editor, Roy Carson, and after viewing yet another video feed, I stated, "How I wish I could meet President Hugo Chavez and cry into his arms." I do not know if it is because we share the same birthday, the same kindred spirit for peace, but I do understand his angst as well as outrage at my government. What gets me is that I do not feel this way in regards to any elected official here in the United States. |
Now I read in Online Journal that the next stop is Iran. According to them "the United States " ... will go to war with Iran before the end of the year." Please pay close attention to this passage, "it's worth noting that the information from a former Labor Minister corroborates expert analyses suggesting that Israel, with US and British support, is deliberately escalating the cycle of retaliation to legitimize the imminent targeting of Iran before year's end."
- Where will this barbarism end?
- When the West has wiped the Muslim world off the face of the map?
- Could this be the explanation of why they hate us as told to us by the government of the United States?
- How would you feel if they (the Muslims) were marching in country after country killing our citizens?
You would not like it one bit and you would scream bloody murder for retaliation. But, the Muslims are just supposed to bow down to us and take the brutality that we wish to dole out. Oh please, they have every right to exist, to live and enjoy life as we do.
In this article, Seymour Hersh quotes "a former high-level US intelligence official as follows: “This is a war against terrorism, and Iraq is just one campaign. The Bush administration is looking at this as a huge war zone. Next, we’re going to have the Iranian campaign. We’ve declared war and the bad guys, wherever they are, are the enemy. This is the last hurrah -- we’ve got four years, and want to come out of this saying we won the war on terrorism.” As the United States with the complicity and partnership of the United Kingdom as well as Israel, this thought often crosses my mind and that is we have become the terrorists. We have done more damage than Al Qaeda could ever dream of doing or has done.
I have stated in previous VHeadline.com articles that Iraq has suffered a 9/11 on a daily basis for over three years now, yet we do not care one bit for the deaths of their innocent. The Palestinians, the Lebanese and the Iranians too will suffer a 9/11 on a daily basis.
As long as we continue to bomb the innocent, there will no winning any war on terrorism, because bombing the innocent is terrorism at its finest. The only thing that any nation that bombs a guiltless country is to bomb them into compliance and not giving them the right to self determination.
So, if after we invade Iran, what country is next? Just how many countries will we continue to bomb? At this point, I will not bring up the monetary costs, because if the citizens of the United States continue to support these acts of barbarism and terrorism, any financial repercussions we suffer, we will deserve.
These are not normal times in which we should be discussing political campaigns, but times in which we should be discussing and demanding from our United States government that we have had enough of their brand of terrorism upon guiltless people.
As politically engaged people receive donation pledge solicitations in the mail, what we should be doing instead is sending back the most horrific photos of those that they have killed through their support of George W. Bush.
