As elected officials go, Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton) is so unassuming that he often flies beneath the media radar. But overlooking what he's delivered for his East End congressional district would be a mistake. more »

While I am no economic expert, what I do see is danger. Most of us simply do not have time to watch over investments and that is where we do need a watch dog in, Hevesi. He has successfully watched over a $140 billion dollar state pension fund. more »

I want all of you to zero in on what Cong. Ron Paul stated a “borderless travel within the union” It kind of deflates both King’s and Zanzi’s campaign message of promoting such a border. I have written just recently of that point. more »

The deaths of over 2,800 members of the armed services is being felt in all 50 states, so this is not a blue state versus red state issue, but an American issue. I think it high time that the electorate in all 50 states sends Bush a message come November 7th, that America craves a new course, instead of ‘stay the course’. more »

Let us also talk of the cost of deporting all of these illegals back to Mexico and other countries that they came from. How much will this program cost? This was addressed by Congressman, Tim Bishop in that debate. If this rounding up plan goes through, no known figure has been cited. It seems to me that the Republican Party just loves to spend our tax dollars. more »

I see nothing objectionable in Brooke Ellison’s politics as pointed out in that Flanagan commercial. In fact, what I see is a candidate who is concerned for the economic welfare of Long Islanders. more »

To my fellow Americans have some back bone for once as we face these midterm elections. I want every one of you to take a copy of the United States Constitution with you to the polls to pay homage to that document that Bush murdered in one fell swoop of a pen along with the GOP. more »

I just want to say to you that you are showing the true hypocritical nature of the Republican Party. You scream if anyone dares to mention impeaching George W. Bush, yet feel emboldened to start impeachment proceedings against Alan Hevesi. more »

On one hand we have Bush knowingly lying to the American people, the US Congress and the United Nations and people like Pataki will scream if we even mention the ‘I’ word meaning impeachment of George W. Bush, yet will sanction the impeachment of Alan Hevesi who has only done right by the people of New York State. more »

For a man who acted as their protector, in the use of this ad, his party has now defiled the very memory of those lost on that perilous day. He used their pain and suffering in a cheap and servile attempt to scare the electorate. more »

In the movie “The American President”, President Andrew Shepherd states “I promise you, Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: Making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections.” Wouldn’t you call that the GOP theme and campaign in a nutshell? more »

They all remind me of snake-oil salesman and when I do think of the many lies or promises they say they will keep, one quote comes to mind by P.T. Barnum (co-founder of Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus) in which he said, “There is a sucker born every minute and two to take him” That is the GOP campaign in a nutshell. more »

I found it to be a riveting movie, but should an event like this ever happen especially post 9/11 it would have a devastating affect on us all. If we think we are living in a police state now and event like this would increase that environment ten fold. more »

As Bush has now been given a blank check to use whatever means are necessary, will we be given accurate information and intelligence from those we are questioning? The answer is no. If though these interrogation sessions which will use violence to obtain this information, we stand a greater chance of getting the wrong information from these detainees and how will that protect Americans? more »

I wish to address your comments to the Democratic leaders in Washington, D.C., the day after and with your help, America died. What I am referring to is when Bush signed into law, ‘The Military Commissions Act of 2006’ which will allow him to decide if someone is to be tortured, and arrested without due process of law. It also protects people like him from war crimes. All of this happened with your help, so don’t you dare lecture Democrats. more »

When it comes to Bush’s go-it-alone foreign policy, this is what Congressman Bishop believes that we “need to return to a saner foreign policy” He also believes that “diplomacy is not a bad thing” There are some that believe diplomacy is a sign of weakness, but I am of the opinion it makes one stronger and makes this nation stronger. more »

As Bob Woodward stated in the Sixty Minutes interview with Mike Wallace he had this to say of the Bush administration, “That for the last three years, the White House has not been honest with the American public." Let me add to Woodward’s assessment that the Bush administration has refused all accountability as well and will always point the finger of blame back to Clinton using their GOP cronies. more »

I wonder if the militia is using this as a new recruiting promotion. I can now see in my head the commercial in which someone says, “Hey sons and daughters are you fed up with our rights being taken away or tampered with? If so, then call this number at the bottom of the screen or go to our web site which is also listed.” more »
